Not a day goes by that we (more specifically Mom) don't worry about something happening to Henry. I think it goes without saying every parent, aunt, grandparent, whomever wants nothing more than to keep the babies of the world safe. Unfortunately life happens.
We had our first welcome-to-reality event the day all of these beautiful pictures were taken by none other than the amazing super dad Matt. Now I don't mean to scare anyone, Henry is fine. In fact, Matt will claim that I was more traumatized by what happened than Henry was. I plead the fifth.
We had a fun filled day of breakfast, a little shopping and then a trip to the park to hang out and capture some moments. A little while into our park trip I had Henry in my lap and I look down and there was a wasp hanging out on the side of his head! I immediately swatted it away but it was too late. The damage was done. Henry received his very first sting and he wasn't afraid to let everyone know how much it hurt!
Fortunately Henry is a tough guy and he was back to his normal self in just a few minutes. This day could have turned out a lot worse but we were lucky that Henry didn't have a worse reaction than just a little swelling.
People told us that when you have kids there is always a constant worry in the back of your mind. I know now that I can't protect this little miracle from everything, but that doesn't mean I still won't try! But don't worry, I haven't ordered a bubble for him just yet ;)
