Each month we take photos of him to see how much he's grown on the rocking chair in his nursery, and it's fun to think back at how easy this used to be. Now, Henry moves so much it's almost impossible to take these photos. Cadi sets him up and jumps out of frame as quickly as possible -- I have my camera set to take multiple shots with one click and we hope for the best in the three seconds before Henry tries to squirm off the chair.
Henry still doesn't really sit up, but for what he lacks in ability to sit around a campfire, he makes up for in ability to crawl. He is crawling like a mad man now, getting into all sorts of mischief. He likes to play with the decor around our home, our dust buster and Eddy's food/water bowls more than his own toys. He also is making all sorts of funny noises now laughs at the silliest things and is a hoot to be around.
He started eating "real food" this month, starting off with sweet potatoes. He's eaten carrots, peas and rutabaga to name a few. He seems to love them all -- each time he tries something new for the first time, his face is priceless. Though he is better at eating now, he still likes to make a mess from time to time.
One of Henry's favorite things to do is go on walks -- though it is getting quite chilly in Minnesota, he loves, absolutely loves going on walks. He will sit in his stroller in complete silence for even 45 minute walks. He just loves to soak in the fresh air and the outside world. We have to bundle up more, but that doesn't stop us from going on walks almost nightly.
One of the funniest moments since we've had Henry happened when we had just come home. Cadi and Henry were already inside and I tried to sneak past Cadi and bumped her with the door. She said, "ow" which for some reason made Henry break out in a fit of laughter. Each subsequent time we said "ow" he laughed and laughed. We had to take a video so we can remember this moment forever. If you listen, you can hear me yell "ow" from upstairs and he still laughed. It was definitely a one time thing, because now we try to say "ow" it doesn't even phase him. For some reason, he found the word absolutely hilarious in that moment. Ah, babies.
Here are some more of my favorite pictures from the last month. He dressed like a mummy and Batman for Halloween, and I absolutely love him in his winter bear hat.
